ABOUT US

Project AIRMEN is financially supported by the Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science

The Center for Research and Design in Human Comfort, Energy and Environment (CERDECEN) possesses strong research potential and experience, built up as a result of effective long-term collaborations with leading European research centres in the framework of more than 25 joint European projects.

The centre is recognized as a "Centre of Excellence" by the European Commission and funded (project CERDECEN, ENK6-CT-2002-80661, 2003-2005) in the same scientific field as the proposed project.

Specific know-how of the centre is to perform field studies with the participation of people in a controlled environment (laboratory, climatic chamber), research surveys, etc., carried out for the first time in Bulgaria (project ДДВУ02/8/2010 and own research program).

The research team has developed a computational laboratory with licenses for two commercial software packages - PHOENICS and FLUENT, for computer simulation of complex flows, including simulation of air flows in enclosures, flows around buildings and flows around a human body. There are also specialized software packages developed by the team.
