ABSTRACT Current paper deals with numerical investigation of metabolic CO2 distribution in a ventilated classroom. CO2 is generated by a group of 24 narrowly spaced students and a teacher. Computer simulations are completed bythe OpenFOAM CFD software package. Based on the CO2 volume fraction distribution evaluation of indoor air quality in the students breathing zone is done. Current study reveals that while a ventilation system is designed it must be taken into account both the occupant’s thermal comfort and the indoor air quality in the breathing zone.
